Anke Buchmann is an artist based in Berlin. Her work encompasses ceramic objects and embodied experiences through clay. Her overall interest lies in examining the different dimensions of experiences that come from the artist, the audience, the process and the object. She is following a 2-fold approach, balancing between experience in engagement and interaction, and material in the form of clay. In her work she explores embodiment, presence and aliveness. Anke’s practice is based on concept, experimentation and observation. She exhibited in solo and group shows in Berlin, London and France as part of the British Ceramic Biennial, Pangolin London, Ceramic Art London, London Design Festival, Central Saint Martins, Lethaby Gallery, Art Bermondsey Project Space, Sugarhouse Studios, The Hub at Wellcome Collection London and Domaine de Boisbuchet, France. Anke is also a Fellow of Domaine de Boisbuchet. In Summer 2018 Anke received a first class honours degree in Ceramics from Central Saint Martins.
